Other little things that made me smile~

Remembering WHY I started doing the ‘Felicitous Favourite Fridays‘ weekly posts.  It’s easy to forget to really appreciate the little things that happen that we are grateful for…even when you are doing a weekly post on it!!  You write the post every time, but forget to really feel the feelings!  So here we are, twenty-five weekly posts in…and still feeling truly thankful for the little things and trying to live in the moment!

Heat.  Seriously!  It’s incredibly cold and wet here, and even though it drives my electricity bills up to the price of a small mortgage…I love my heater! ♥ Parsnip, carrot and beetroot crisps ♥ Baking with C. ♥ Legwarmers, hiking socks, long sleeves and woolly zip-ups! ♥ Portrait shoots! ♥ Six o’clock in the evening.  All the curtains closed, heat’s on, candles and fairy lights lit, and more-often-than-not, settling down for the evening!  Puuuurrr! ♥ Portfolio planning ♥ Abandoned buildings, yards, factories…anything urban j’adore! ♥ C. leaving his long-sleeve thermal top behind….mmmm, so warm and soft! ♥ The fact that I will get to see my sister soon! Hurrah! ♥ Little accomplishments ♥

Day in a life;  Of ‘Life in a Day’!!  This is an amazing movie, shot by normal people all over the world, on one day.  I totally love the man who burst into tears over his cat, the couple who renewed their wedding vows after 50 years, (and wrote each others vows..hiarious) the lightning storm over the cranes…and the brilliant snail in the end credits who eats the type…

“Mind your own business”

Oh…and the fish eye cow in the last shot!  I really didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did, but I sat and watched the entire thing…with breaks!

Dinner with friends, consisting of three courses of sweets!!! ♥ Sweatpants..what can I say ♥ Therapist chat! ♥ Saving for a new photographic purchase ♥ The ‘Holiday Treats’ saving jar! ♥ Wonderful sleeps, with fantastic dreams ♥ Pure awesome gluten-free cookies, with lumps of dark and milk chocolate and banana milkshakes for breakfast! ♥ Plans…and lists! ♥

Happy 11-11-11!

Yoga Breakin’ ;  I’m always in awe of people who can do something really well with their bodies… but dancer Arthur Cadre’s mind-(and-body)bending moves totally blew me away.  Check out the beautifully shot video below, by Alex Yde.  I also LOVE that space they use, rustic, simple, eye-catching – beautiful! ♥

One Man Bands’;  You know that one person, or album that you have gone back to year after year after year?…Dub FX is mine! ♥♥♥ My favourites are  ‘Soothe your pain‘,  ‘Love me or not‘,  ‘Love someone’,  ‘Rude boy’,  ‘Society gates‘ (Wait…around 5.00 is my FAVE!) and the brilliant saxophone in ‘Flow‘.  Ok, that’s alot of them!  Check out the playlist here!!  LOVE him!

Chilli ♥ Beating my cold…haHA! ♥ Eating oranges for the first time in like, a year! Yummy! ♥ Last weekends charity exhibition ♥ Joining a group choir to learn how to use my voice again! SIng siNG SING  ♥ Obsessing about being strong enough to skateboard again ♥ Rosemary ratatouille ♥ Not having to spend most of the day in bed! ♥  People singing when they think no-one can hear them! ♥ Trawling You tube and obsessing over old music! ♥ Making papier-mâché balloons ♥ Getting deep ‘cracks’ out of your back! ♥ Acting like an eejit! ♥ Enthusiam ♥♥♥

Dog racing;  I have to admit, I’m not a big fan of dressing animals up but this photo from the Halloween dog show made me smile!

Sock Curls;  Great diy idea to get big, curly hair.  Totally worked for me,  the curls held really well…finally a technique that works for long, messy curls, without damage.

Beautiful Walls;  I have collected images of framing and creative wall ideas for years at this stage…so far I have never really used any of them, I can only suppose they are for future amazing living spaces I will inhibit! (Or prehaps the next life?!) There is a rather brilliant concise post of all the ‘sneak peeks’ over at design sponge. These are my favourite though…

I think that’s the most beautiful and fantastic wallpaper ever…and such a must-do!

Faking it;  Great idea for getting a wicked hand-embroidered look.  I really want to try this!  For me, the problem with trying techniques our on my clothes is this…I don’t have that many clothes..and they last me many, many years, so if I wreck them I would be terribly upset!  Will have to invest in some ‘experiment clothes’!!!

Jar head;  I’m totally obsessed!  They are everywhere… Check out this fab idea  for colored vintage-style jars from Momtastic.  (I also just adore her magnetic tin idea!)  It seems like every diy I read recently is talking about ‘Mod Podge’…what is this magical stuff, and does it exist in Ireland I wonder?!!

Living statues;  I stumbled across this project by artist Yolanda Dominguez on fashion poses…and I’m loving the video, quite the installation!

Thank YUM! ♥ Starbucks gluten-free chocolate brownies! ♥

Back from the Future;…The past to the present…or is it the future to the past…Brilliant!  I know a certain someone who will love this!

I can finally buy my first house;  Someone has finally made property an affordable affair!  Beautifully made too.

M.E Bear ♥ Fresh bed linen ♥ He made it rain diamonds ♥ Newly placed fairy lights ♥ He♥rts drawn in dirt ♥ Lillies, they filled my entire flat with the most delicious, heady aroma…and no migraines! ♥ Movie nights ♥ My impromptu jogging session, and being made laugh at a very low point of a week ♥ Blueberry and green tea ♥ New cumin lentil soup ♥ Starting a new cookbook…for all the new recipes, and the new regime!  Anyway, I’ve looked at ‘Stuffed chicken breasts’ and ‘Spicy chicken stew’ recipes for faaar too long as a vegetarian! ♥ Next Thursday’s excitement ♥ Diana F+ and light leaks ♥ Dreaming hacking up jumpers and teeshirts…I’m obsessed ♥ I can’t believe I ripped out a page of my dictionary to make a card…damn! ♥
